Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Math Tutor role located in Sunbury, OH. The Math Tutor will provide individualized and small-group support in mathematics, helping students strengthen foundational skills and master course content. Daily responsibilities include planning and delivering tutoring sessions, focusing on areas such as basic math skills and algebra, monitoring student progress, and adjusting instruction as needed. The tutor will collaborate with classroom teachers to align support with curriculum goals, maintain accurate records of student performance, and communicate effectively with staff and, when appropriate, families. The role also involves fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages student confidence and persistence in math.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong subject-matter skills in Mathematics and Algebra.
- Candidates should possess tutoring-related skills, including Tutoring experience and familiarity with Online Tutoring platforms.
- Candidates should possess interpersonal skills such as clear and professional Communication.
- Relevant qualifications such as prior experience working with K–12 students, knowledge of differentiated instruction, and the ability to support diverse learning needs.
- Preferred education includes an associate or bachelor’s degree in education, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience in academic support roles.
