Payroll Clerk
Summary:
Join our payroll team as a Payroll Clerk, responsible for daily data entry and assisting in accurate and timely weekly payroll processing. This role is critical to ensuring the precision of payroll records in a rapidly growing organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform daily payroll department operations efficiently.
- Manage workflows to ensure timely and accurate payroll transactions.
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
- Ensure proper taxation of employer-paid benefits.
- Process and comply with garnishments and child support calculations.
- Prepare accurate and timely year-end payroll reports when necessary.
- Develop financial and operational reports as needed.
- Calculate back pay and make check corrections.
- Address employee and employer payroll inquiries through research and resolution.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate degree in Business or Accounting required.
- Certifications: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.
- Experience:
- 4–6 years of experience in multi-state payroll processing.
- Strong understanding of child support income withholding orders (IWOs) and garnishments.
- Skills and Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of payroll best practices.
- Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other PC applications.
- Familiarity with Paycom Payroll Software preferred.
