The Courtyard by Marriott Columbia Northeast/Ft. Jackson Area is located in the Northeast part of Columbia, South Carolina, near Fort Jackson. It’s a typical corporate and business hotel, and we are looking for a General Manager – someone who’s an inspiring leader and operationally well-versed in all functions of the hotel and places the brand at the heart of all decisions, while delivering superior return on investment for the owner – to join our busy and professional team.
As the General Manager, you will work with the owner as a partner and manage every part of the hotel through close involvement in all operations, keeping things simple and making operations effortless and uncomplicated. You will monitor service standards to ensure that all services (including outsourced services) meet brand standards and guest expectations while improving safety, security and energy conservation. You will establish clear performance goals for employees, provide regular feedback and hands-on coaching and support, leading the team by working directly with them in an approachable way.
Acting as a Brand Ambassador, you will place the brand at the center of all communications, marketing initiatives and actions. You will take an active role in sales-generating business and make use of market knowledge and social media to provide clear direction on sales and marketing and revenue strategies. Working with financial spreadsheets, you will make budgeting and forecasting decisions and review rates to increase revenue, profitability and maximum return on investment for your owner’s equity.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate is likely to have 4 years or more of hotel experience with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Hotel Administration or Business Administration.
