JOB OVERVIEW
A general laborer is responsible for performing various tasks to aid daily operations at a construction site.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Complete tasks as instructed by Foreman or Lead Operator.
- Be willing and able to manually move material and supplies when needed.
- Be willing to learn how to run heavy equipment, use a grade rod and learn excavation processes.
- Prep construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards.
- Perform Site clean-up.
- Ready to learn from on job training when necessary.
- Assist with caring for and maintaining equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The General Laborer is regularly required to:
- Walk, climb stairs, sit, and stand.
- Talk and hear at normal levels.
- See with close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and have the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to recognize visual safety indicators, including color-coded lights and markings.
- Reach with hands and arms.
- Use hands and fingers to operate to operate tools and other business machines.
- Lift and/ or move up to 50lbs.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- No construction or excavation experience necessary
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.
- Ability to work in all weather.
- Workers must be punctual and reliable.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
DESIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
