Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to champion a safe and compliant work environment across our work zones. In this vital role, you will develop, implement, and oversee safety protocols that protect our team members and ensure adherence to all relevant regulations. Duties
- Develop, update, and enforce comprehensive safety policies aligned with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, hazard assessments, and risk analyses to identify potential issues before they escalate.
- Lead safety training sessions and development programs covering topics such as first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), OSHA compliance, occupational health, and EHS (Environmental Health & Safety).
- Investigate workplace incidents using root cause analysis techniques; prepare detailed report writing to document findings and corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of safety audits, incident reports, workers' compensation claims, and compliance documentation in accordance with legal requirements.
- Collaborate with management to implement corrective measures that improve workplace safety performance continuously.
- Stay current on industry best practices, legislative changes related to workers' compensation law, OSHA updates, and environmental regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction environments with a strong understanding of occupational health and safety principles.
- Certification in first aid, CPR, OSHA safety standards, or related fields is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of workers' compensation law and procedures for reporting workplace injuries or illnesses.
- Familiarity with EPA regulations concerning environmental safety practices within industrial settings.
- Strong report writing skills coupled with the ability to perform root cause analysis effectively.
- Excellent training & development skills with a passion for educating teams on safety protocols.
- Ability to analyze complex situations quickly and develop practical solutions that promote a safe working environment.
