We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team. This job will be at College of San Mateo Farmers Market every Saturday from 8:30 am- 1:15pm once per week.
Paying $25 for 4.75 hour shift 8:30-1:15 every Thursday, with possibility of more for set up/ clean up time.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide assistance with their inquiries.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process transactions.
- Sell food products effectively while engaging with customers and managing orders.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision, utilizing basic math skills for accurate change calculations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and store displays.
- Address customer concerns promptly and professionally, demonstrating excellent customer service skills.
Qualifications
- Must be personable and polite to provide excellent customer service.
- Previous experience in food service environments is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with customers.
- Proficiency in basic math and retail math to ensure accurate transaction processing.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- A positive attitude, reliability, and commitment to providing outstanding customer service are crucial for success in this role.
- Must be able to reliably get to the market for the shift.
