Position Summary
The Toddler co-Lead Teacher is responsible for supervising teachers and volunteers to implement activities that model and promote the Big Oak's mission, vision, and values, and that meet accreditation criteria for children ages 18 months to 3 years old. You will prepare, with co-teachers, weekly experiences that enhance the development of language, social emotional skills, literacy, cognitive skills, emerging interests, physical capabilities, science and technology, social studies, the arts, mathematics, and English language acquisition.
Duties
- Understand and adhere to state licensing and city accreditation requirements
- Develop and implement the classroom's curriculum
- Review policy manuals, licensing rules and accreditation standards with staff
- Supervise volunteers and student teachers placed in your program
- Oversee parent/teacher conferences twice a year and review all conferences prior to meetings
- Delegate tasks to staff as needed. Tasks may include: responsibilities associated with field trips, classroom maintenance, daily routines, attachment needs of individual children, team prep time, discussions regarding individual children, practices strategies, policy/procedural review, accident reports, other program related issues
Requirements
Infant/Toddler Credential, CDA, Associates, or Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
