Big O Tires is looking for a skilled and reliable Emissions Technician to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for conducting vehicle emissions inspections, diagnosing exhaust-related issues, and performing general automotive maintenance. Key Responsibilities:

• Perform official state emissions inspections and smog checks in compliance with state regulations.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair exhaust systems, emissions control devices, and related automotive systems.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment to accurately identify vehicle issues and error codes.
• Provide clear and accurate explanations of test results and required repairs to service advisors and customers.
• Maintain accurate records of all inspections and repairs performed.
• Assist with general automotive services (e.g., oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections) as needed during peak times.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Emissions License: Must possess a valid, current State Emissions/Smog License (Mandatory).
• Experience: Previous experience working as an emissions or automotive technician is highly preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to operate standard shop equipment and electronic diagnostic tools.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong customer-service mindset.
• Must provide your own basic set of tools (specialized testing equipment provided by the shop).
