Big Man's Moving is an award-winning, family-owned moving company seeking a reliable, motivated, and highly organized Full-Time Dispatcher / Operations Coordinator to join our team.
We have completed more than 18,000 moves, employ approximately 30 W-2 employees, and operate a fleet of 11 branded moving trucks. This is a fast-paced position for someone who can think quickly, communicate professionally, multitask, and help keep daily operations running smoothly.
This is NOT a work-from-home position and is not strictly a desk job. You must be comfortable working in an office environment while also occasionally assisting in the field when operational needs require it.
Primary Responsibilities
- Dispatch moving crews and trucks to daily job sites in the greater Tampa and Orlando area.
- Communicate with movers, drivers, customers, and management throughout the day
- Learn and efficiently operate our moving CRM software
- Monitor daily schedules and make real-time operational adjustments
- Assist with inside sales and incoming customer inquiries
- Provide professional customer service by phone, text, and email
- Write clear, professional customer emails with proper spelling and grammar
- Perform general administrative and office duties
- Maintain truck maintenance records, service logs, and fleet documentation
- Help monitor truck cleanliness, equipment, and operational readiness
- Assist with employee communication and daily crew coordination
- Occasionally travel to a job site or assist movers in the field when needed (Mostly the greater Tampa area and occasionally the Orlando area)
- Work directly with ownership and management to improve daily operations
Required Qualifications
- Valid and clean driver's license
- Reliable personal vehicle to travel to the office or job sites
- Must be available Monday through Saturday during business and operational hours
- Must type a minimum of 45 words per minute using both hands
- No hunting and pecking on a keyboard
- Strong computer and laptop skills
- Ability to quickly learn CRM and operational software
- Excellent written communication, spelling, and grammar
- Prior customer service experience with a strong track record
- Comfortable speaking professionally with customers by phone
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Strong multitasking and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision
- Able to remain calm and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Athletic and physically capable of lifting and carrying basic household furniture when occasional field assistance is required
Transportation Requirements
You must have a dependable personal vehicle and reliable transportation. There will be very little but some travel back and forth to our Orlando location on occasion. You must also live within 30 minutes of our Clearwater office, where most of the work will be performed day to day. We aren't interested in hiring someone with a really long commute.
This position is not appropriate for someone relying on e-bikes, rides from friends, or inconsistent transportation. Operational situations may require you to travel between our office, truck locations, and customer job sites.
