Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards
- Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and slicers
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations throughout shifts to ensure a hygienic environment
- Follow food handling procedures diligently to uphold safety standards in production
- Assist with meal assembly and plating to ensure timely service during busy hours
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate orders and ensure smooth workflow
- Support inventory management by monitoring ingredients and notifying supervisors of supply needs
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or culinary environments is preferred
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and food preparation methods
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus but not required
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen team members
- Familiarity with menu planning, food handling, and catering experience is advantageous
