You will diagnose issues, perform repairs, and contribute to a growing used car dealership/automotive repair shop.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced tools to identify vehicle issues accurately.
- Conduct repairs on various systems including engines (gasoline and diesel), transmissions, powertrains, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, and steering components.
- Execute routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, wheel alignments, and vehicle inspections to uphold safety standards.
- Repair or replace critical components like ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), air brakes, auto body parts, and welding repairs with precision.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for disassembly, repair, and reassembly of vehicle parts while adhering to safety protocols.
- Interpret technical schematics and repair manuals to ensure accurate diagnostics and repairs on GM vehicles or other makes.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring vehicle quality meets dealership or company standards.
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance.
- Dealership experience is highly preferred for familiarity with manufacturer-specific systems and procedures.
- Knowledge of automotive diagnostics tools and electrical systems is essential for efficient troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with diesel engine repair, auto estimating, auto body repair, welding, and alignment techniques is advantageous.
- Familiarity with automotive electrical systems, powertrain components, transmissions, suspension systems, tire service, shocks & struts is required.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and work confidently with hand tools and power tools in a fast-paced environment.
