QUALIFICATIONS:
REPORTS TO:
Building Principal
JOB GOAL:
To provide exceptional children with individualized educational programming which will foster the achievement of their potential academically, emotionally, physically, and socially.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible for providing special education services to special education students in seventh (7th) through age twenty-one (21) in a variety of settings including, but not limited to the classroom. The needs of students assigned to this teacher vary from functional items to the acquisition of daily living and vocational skills leading to a successful transition to adult life within the community. This classroom provides instruction in practical academics, communication, community, domestic, leisure/recreation, and vocational skills utilizing a functional curriculum. An emphasis is on communication, maximum independence, and opportunities to generalize skills in natural settings as well as participation in general education activities with typical peers.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and length of contract according to current provisions for certified staff members as established annually by the Board of Trustees. Eligible for benefits as provided in policy.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the building principal with input from the Special Services director.
Position closes when a suitable candidate is found. This position requires a pre-hire background check and a drug test.

- Eligibility for Wyoming teacher certification through the State Department of Education with endorsement in exceptional children K-12.
- Such additions to the above qualification as the Board and administration may find appropriate and acceptable.
