Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Personal Assistant to provide exceptional support to individuals in need of assistance with daily activities and personal care. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure comfort and dignity
- Monitor patients’ health status by observing vital signs, patient behavior, and overall condition; report any concerns promptly
- Support medication administration following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking as required
- Facilitate safe patient transfers using appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment such as Hoyer lifts or patient transfer methods
- Provide transportation assistance for appointments, errands, or community activities to promote social engagement and independence. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR OWN VEHICLE WITH CURRENT INSURANCE AND VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE!
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, and organizing living spaces
Skills
- Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or aging populations in settings such as group homes, nursing homes, or assisted living facilities
- Strong knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and first aid/CPR certification
- Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care strategies, and resident’s rights within long-term care environments
- Ability to assist with complex mobility needs using manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts or patient transfer methods safely
- Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Experience supporting individuals with autism or developmental disabilities through personalized care plans and behavioral support strategies
- Capable of heavy lifting when necessary while ensuring safety protocols are followed during patient transfers or mobility assistance
