Customer Service Manager (Operations / Self-Directed)
Location: Sacramento, CA 95827 (In-Office)
Pay: $55,000 – $80,000 per year (DOE)
Job Summary
Big Hairy Dog Information Systems is hiring a Customer Service Manager to oversee and improve our day-to-day customer service operations.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can manage themselves, take ownership, and keep multiple departments aligned. You will serve as the central point of coordination between customers, sales, technical support, shipping, and administration.
We are not looking for entry-level candidates—this role requires experience, accountability, and strong organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee daily customer service operations
- Coordinate scheduling, follow-ups, and service delivery
- Act as liaison between Sales, Technical, Shipping, and Admin teams
- Ensure all customer requests and issues are handled promptly
- Track workflows, internal processes, and service checklists
- Identify inefficiencies and improve processes
- Communicate with customers and outside vendors
- Escalate urgent issues and ensure resolution
- Support internal projects and operational initiatives
Requirements
- 5 years of customer service, operations, or service coordination experience
- Proven ability to self-manage and prioritize without supervision
- Strong communication and phone skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in software, IT services, or technical environments
- Familiarity with CRM or service management systems
- Operations or process improvement experience
