PROGRAM: Head Start – NW
POSITION(S): Early Head Start Teacher (12 Month)
LOCATION: Woodward
JOB SUMMARY: Creates and manages an attractive, warm and challenging learning environment for infants and toddlers. Incorporates developmentally appropriate early intervention, learning and care activities which meet the needs of the group as well as those of individual children and families. Encourage parent involvement in all aspects of the program. To develop individual goals for children, provide on-going assessment on progress and facilitate transition into next level of education. Responsible for the safety of the children.
QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood. Associates Degree or Child Development Associate (CDA) credential with three years experience in early childhood is required. Must have experience in teaching and Early Childhood Program administration. Excellent communication skills and a working knowledge of available community resources required. Knowledge of and ability to comply with Head Start Performance Standards is mandatory. Ability to respond appropriately (both mentally and physically) to an emergency or a crisis situation. Daily kneeling, stooping, bending, and sitting on the floor to attend to children's needs. Lifting up to 60 lbs. Eligible applicants must pass a DHS Background review. Pre-employment drug testing required. Must have a valid Oklahoma driver’s license, proof of automobile liability insurance and a good driving record. Within 30 days of employment must be Pediatric first aid and CPR certified. Employment is conditional pending immediate enrollment in Head Start Orientation.
