Job Summary:
We are looking for a hardworking, dependable Groundskeeper who loves being around dogs and enjoys working outdoors. The Groundskeeper plays a key role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of our 33-acre campus to ensure a positive environment for both dogs and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine landscaping tasks including trimming, edging, raking, and leaf blowing.
- Maintain our walking trails and grounds, ensuring they are clean, safe, and free of debris.
- Remove pet waste from walking areas on a daily basis.
- Repair fencing, gates, and outdoor structures as needed.
- Water plants, trees, and grass; apply fertilizers as directed.
- Assist with outdoor event setup and breakdown as needed.
- Respond to facility-related work orders and special requests.
- Report safety hazards or maintenance concerns to the Operations Manager promptly.
- Interact with dogs on a regular basis; must be comfortable working around large breeds.
Qualifications:
- Prior groundskeeping, landscaping, or maintenance experience preferred.
- Must be comfortable around dogs of all sizes.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, bend, kneel, and work in outdoor conditions (heat, rain, etc.).
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of irrigation systems or small engine repair a plus
- Experience working in an animal care or shelter environment a plus
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
