About the Job
The Assistant Manager helps manage the day-to-day operations of Big Deal Outlet. This person is an energetic, self-starter who is interested in managing a great team. The position requires someone with a positive attitude, a track record of honesty and integrity, and the ability to manage a team of employees. You will assist the Store’s General Manager manage a team of 7 – 13 employees, along with assisting the complete responsibility of store operations.
Requirements
What You Will Do:
- Recruiting
- Continual employee training
- Shift scheduling
- Gaining a deep understanding of the companies Point of Sale (POS) system
- Resolve customer and employee grievances
- Daily opening and closing procedures
- Cash handling, and other responsibilities pertaining to the day-to-day operations of a retail establishment
- All other duties as assigned
What You Will Bring:
- High school Diploma or equivalent
- Strong relationship management skills
- Highly organized and able to communicate effectively
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills, ability to use good judgment
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer Skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel a plus)
- Ability to stay productive unsupervised
- Professional in appearance and standards
- Positive attitude
- Ability to motivate, change, and lead others to success
- Work varied shifts, including Saturdays and holidays
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
What You Will Experience:
Work is generally performed in a retail store environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
- Stand or sit for long periods of time
- Use a computer to enter data
- Communicate with stakeholders to understand needs
- Perform repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement
- Feel the attributes of objects, grasp, push, and reach with arms or hands.
- Move objects up to 10 lbs. (Must be able to frequently move/lift objects up to 25 lbs. in weight. May occasionally move/lift an object up to 50 lbs. in weight)
