What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Media Intern - Part-Time position at Big-D Construction?
Big-D Companies is looking for a part-time Social Media Intern to help bring our brand to life online. You’ll gain real-world social media experience, build a standout portfolio, and dive into the storytelling side of construction—capturing the energy of active jobsites, learning how projects get built, and turning those moments into content that shapes the stories behind our builds, teams, and culture. This internship offers hands-on experience with everything from reels to reporting, all while collaborating with a fun, fast-paced team.
This 20hr/week, internship is offered in our Salt Lake City office.
Social Media Content and Scheduling:
- Join jobsite visits to capture behind-the-scenes moments and team stories.
- Pitch and help produce original content—photos, videos, reels, and more.
- Schedule approved posts using Sprout Social and contribute ideas for what we share next.
- Help keep our brand voice consistent, creative, and people-centered.
Community Engagement and Research
- Keep an eye on our comments, tags, and DMs and jump in where needed.
- Spot social trends early and recommend reel formats, audio, and visual styles.
- Assist with event coverage by capturing moments on-site and turning them into shareable content.
Cross-Team Collaboration:
- Work with regional teams to gather content and insights from across the company.
- Help maintain a shared content library to support our growing social calendar.
- Contribute to strategies for campaigns, giveaways, or milestone celebrations.
Analytics and Strategy:
- Track performance of posts and paid campaigns using Sprout Social.
- Summarize engagement metrics and note what’s resonating.
- Research and provide data that helps shape smarter content strategies.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Strong writing skills and an eye for visual storytelling.
- Familiarity with platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
- Experience with Adobe Suite, video editing, or scheduling tools like Sprout Social is a plus.
- Curious, collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn and contribute.
- Able to work in the Sale Lake City office for 20 hours each week.
