Duties
- Set up, operate, and monitor RAW extruders, ensuring optimal performance and product consistency
- Perform quality inspections using precision measuring instruments such as scales
- Adjust machine settings using programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to maintain production specifications
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on extrusion equipment
- Handle materials safely using forklifts and proper materials handling techniques to ensure smooth workflow
- Inspect finished products for defects, ensuring compliance with quality standards through visual checks and measurement tools
- Maintain accurate production records, shift logs, and quality documentation in accordance with lean manufacturing principles
Experience
- Proven experience operating extrusion machinery or similar manufacturing equipment
- Mechanical knowledge of extruders
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
- Warehouse experience including materials handling with forklifts is preferred
- Strong understanding of quality inspection techniques using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and process adjustments
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices to optimize efficiency and reduce waste
