The Georgia Mountain Community of Big Canoe, between Jasper and Dawsonville, Georgia, as it stands today, started in 1972 when it began to be developed. They named the property Big Canoe because the site was once inhabited by Cherokee and Woodland Indians whose history, combined with the quiet mountains, all relate to the canoe.
Today, the Property Owners Association (POA) owns the common amenities, roads, Sconti Clubhouse, Canoe Lodge, recreational facilities including Golf, Wellness, Swim Club, Racquet Club and the Marina, and maintains and operates these facilities.

As the Information Technology (IT) Assistant for the Big Canoe Property Owners Association, the general set of responsibilities will include assisting in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the computer, access control, and A/V systems for the organization and providing technical support for POA staff and various POA clubs and committees.
The IT Assistant will report directly to the IT Director.
Responsibilities:
● Provide computer-related support for POA staff and property owners who experience problems utilizing POA systems.
● Install new computer and network equipment and peripherals.
● Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues.
● Perform regular systems maintenance on computer and network devices.
● Monitor backups, system logs, and endpoint protection status.
● Communicate with local telecom service providers and other technology vendors to resolve related issues.
● Patch, tone, and test CAT5/6 ethernet cabling.
● Support the point of sale systems, including receipt printers, kitchen printers, touchscreens, and credit card terminals.
● Support the hardware at the gates and access control systems.
● Remove retired IT assets and perform data destruction.
● Perform remediation of systems infected with viruses, adware, ransomware, and various other types of malwares.
● Assign employees access credentials for authentication to the computer systems.
● Track equipment changes and log them in the IT asset management system.
● Install, configure, and support VoIP telephone systems.
● Receive in-person and computer-based training for existing and new technologies utilized by the organization and provide learned training to employees.
● Assist with audio/visual related tasks, such as microphone setup, projector and speaker connections, video recordings, Zoom meetings, and running presentation materials.
● Export and parse data from back-office and cloud-based programs into user-friendly reports for management and staff.
● Provide after-hours, weekend, and holiday support on a scheduled or as-needed basis.
● Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
● Experience with Microsoft operating systems and management consoles.
● Experience with Microsoft Office programs, particularly focused on Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
● Sound understanding of computer hardware, networking protocols, software applications, and databases.
● Microsoft, CompTIA, and/or Cisco certifications.
● Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
● Comfortable working on ladders and in tight spaces.
● Travel between several POA locations on any given day.
Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
Pay: $65, $75,000.00 per year
