About the Role:

We’re growing our Commercial Sales Division in Fort Wayne, IN, and we’re looking for a driven Commercial Outside Sales Representative to join our team. In this role, you’ll be the trusted partner for commercial builders—building relationships, providing expert support, and driving sales growth while keeping safety a top priority.

We set you up for success with the right tools, including an in-house custom millwork/cabinet shop and a state-of-the-art truss and panel plant. We have one of the largest fleet of trucks in the area and 93% of our sales are to the professionals putting us in the right position to support your efforts.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial builders
  • Grow sales and achieve margin goals
  • Provide accurate quotes and material takeoffs
  • Conduct on-site job visits and inspections
  • Coordinate deliveries and maintain records
  • Communicate clearly with customers, vendors, and your team
  • Represent Big C Lumber with professionalism and integrity

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5 years of industry experience with building materials
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and material takeoffs
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Strong communication and self-motivation
  • Team player with a customer-first mindset

Preferred Education: High school diploma or GED
