JOB SUMMARY: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta (BBBSMA) seeks strategic and results-oriented Part-Time Match Support Specialists who support the success and sustainability of mentoring relationships within Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta’s Traditional Programs. Reporting to the Match Support Manager, this role provides ongoing guidance, monitoring, and resources to ensure positive, safe, and impactful matches between volunteers (Bigs) and youth (Littles). The specialist maintains consistent communication with participants, documents match progress in the CRM system, and addresses concerns to promote strong relationship development and long-term engagement. This position plays a key role in advancing match quality, retention, and overall program outcomes while delivering responsive, participant-centered service aligned with BBBSMA standards.

Position Summary

The Part-Time Match Support Specialist is responsible for fostering strong, positive relationships between Bigs and Littles within the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta (BBBSMA) program. This role ensures each match receives ongoing support, guidance, and encouragement to promote safe, impactful, and enduring mentoring relationships. The specialist regularly connects with participants via phone, email, and virtual meetings, providing resources, addressing concerns, and maintaining accurate documentation. The position plays a vital part in achieving BBBSMA’s mission by enhancing match quality, retention, and participant satisfaction. 

Performance Measures 
Success is measured by timely outreach and support to assigned matches, completeness and accuracy of case notes in Salesforce/CRM, match retention rates, participant feedback, and resolution of concerns. Additional metrics include effective communication, adherence to agency standards, and contribution to team goals. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Facilitate and document match introduction meetings and provide ongoing support, aligning with volunteer and family schedules and BBBSMA standards. 
  • Conduct volunteer pre-match training.
  • Contact assigned Bigs and Littles regularly to provide support, answer questions, and ensure positive relationship development. 
  • Document all interactions and match progress in Salesforce/CRM, maintaining confidentiality and data integrity. 
  • Identify and address match challenges or concerns, escalating issues as needed to program leadership. 
  • Provide resources and guidance on youth development, safety, and match activities tailored to participants' needs. 
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and special projects to improve service quality and match outcomes. 
  • Maintain a culturally responsive approach, ensuring all participants feel welcomed, respected, and engaged. 
  • Support program accessibility by offering flexible scheduling, including some evening or weekend hours as required. 

 

Skills and Knowledge Required 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to inclusive, high-quality customer service. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities, including active listening and empathy. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Salesforce or CRM platforms. 
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks efficiently while managing multiple cases. 
  • Experience in youth development, mentoring, or related fields preferred. 
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with a solution-oriented mindset. 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in youth development, human services, counseling, social work, education, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  •  Prior experience in youth development, mentoring programs, human services, or a nonprofit organization strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of relationship-based programming and community engagement.
  • Commitment to mission-driven work and serving diverse populations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Routine office environment.  This position is in our Atlanta office, with a flexible, Part-Time hybrid work schedule.
  • This part-time position requires flexible hours, including some evenings and occasional Saturdays, to support match and program needs. 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position is a primarily sedentary position and frequently requires the use of standard office equipment (telephone, PC, copier, fax, and printer).  
  • May occasionally require bending, reaching, and lifting to 10 lbs.  

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • Hourly wage, commensurate with experience and qualifications, aligned with BBBSMA part-time salary band and nonprofit standards. Eligible for pro-rated benefits as applicable. 
  • This is a part-time position and is not eligible for employee benefits.
