Position Summary
The Digital Marketing Intern plays a key role in elevating the BBBSGC brand by creating engaging digital content that inspires volunteers, donors and community members to support our mission. This position is responsible for coordinating content for social media platforms, capturing compelling stories through photography and video and supporting digital marketing initiatives that increase awareness and engagement.
Working alongside the Marketing & Development team, this internship offers hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing, content creation, social media strategy, storytelling and event promotion.
Essential Responsibilities
Digital Marketing & Social Media
- Assist with coordination of BBBSGC's social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and emerging channels like TikTok.
- Develop engaging social media content.
- Monitor social media engagement and communicate response needs to Marketing & Development Associate.
- Research digital marketing trends and recommend innovative content ideas.
- Assist with email marketing campaigns and digital communications.
Content Creation & Storytelling
- Capture high-quality photography and video at agency programs, events and community activities.
- Interview Bigs, Littles, families, volunteers, donors and partners to collect impactful stories.
- Work with creative services specialist on social media graphics, short-form videos and digital content.
- Write engaging captions, blog posts and website stories.
- Maintain an organized digital library of photos, videos and marketing assets.
Event Marketing
- Attend fundraising and community events to create live and post-event digital content.
- Work with Marketing & Development team to promote upcoming events through digital marketing campaigns.
- Coordinate campaigns to highlight sponsors, volunteers and community partners through social media and storytelling.
Website & Communications
- Assist with website updates and content management.
- Support digital newsletters and email communications.
- Help ensure messaging aligns with BBBSGC brand standards and voice.
Analytics & Reporting
- Monitor social media and website performance metrics.
- Prepare monthly digital marketing reports as needed.
- Recommend strategies to improve engagement, reach and audience growth.
Qualifications
Required
- Current college student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with major social media platforms.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects and deadlines.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to attend evening and weekend events as needed.
- Submit a background check
Preferred
- Experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar design software.
- Photography and videography experience.
- Experience creating Reels, TikToks or other short-form video content.
- Basic website editing experience.
- Passion for nonprofit work and community engagement.
