Position: Lead Mentor

POSITION PURPOSE: The primary goal of this position is to ensure children, youth and young adults, served in our ABCToday Schools program enjoy the full benefits of our Roadmap - Theory of Change Framework.

Outcomes/Goals

Organize Group Mentoring Program

  • Leads and organizes groups by facilitating group relationship development, lessons and co-facilitating with assigned volunteers on a schedule established in coordination with the school. mentoring meetings, experiences and activities in partnership with Site Supervisor
  • Coordinate communication with parents/guardians, teachers, Mentoring Site Supervisor and other relevant supports in youth's life when necessary.
  • Work with Site Supervisor, community champions and school district to plan activities and experiences for youth following the BBBSEMO Theory of Change.
  • Maintain progress monitoring data for each mentee, including utilization of the Achievement Tracker developed in partnership with each mentee
  • Maintain attendance records for all mentoring sessions in MatchForce

Partner With Site Supervisor And School

  • Attend and actively participate in weekly check-ins with Mentoring Site Supervisor to review progress of mentees and adjust programming as needed
  • Work primarily from the school and be accessible to students and families, including scheduled weekend hours
  • Conduct monthly check-ins with school point of contact along with Mentoring Site Supervisor for feedback and applies that feedback to program adjustments.
  • Integrate into the school staffing model to provide value and add services to ensure alignment with school policies
  • Assist Site Supervisor with enrollment and assessment of students and families into Group Mentoring program with a goal of approximately 40 active youth

Support the development of the Group Mentoring 2.0 structure by:

  • Collaborate with other departments within agency to support group mentoring ie, enrollment, recruitment and marketing/communications
  • Prepare and implement mentoring curriculum and activities, while also recommending adjustments to materials as needed
  • Create semester and yearly plans for the group outlining goals and activities planned
  • Participate in the development of new outcome reports

Work Environment/Physical Requirements

  • Technology/computer skills needed. Proficient in the following platforms: MS Office Suite (specifically Word, Excel, & Teams); Outlook, & Zoom.
  • Flexible work hours to meet the needs of schools, team members and community leaders/organizations including nights and weekends.
  • Must have car, valid driver's license, and meet state-required automobile insurance minimums.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Salary will be based upon professional and academic experience
  • 401(k)-3% match per year following first year of employment.
  • .625 cents reimbursement on business miles and 100% of out-of-office parking for business meetings, etc.
  • Immediate and 100% coverage on health and dental insurance.
  • Life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance following the first ninety days of employment.
  • 50% contribution toward daily parking in covered garage (employee covers approximately $31.50 per month).
  • After 90 days staff will receive 5 days of paid vacation and 10 days of paid vacation after one year of service.
  • Accrue 1 day per month of sick leave (can also be used for family illnesses)-can carry up to 30 days of sick leave.
  • 2 personal days per year following the first ninety days of employment.
  • Annual raises based on performance, culture, and agency's ability.
  • 11 paid holidays
