Big Brothers Big Sisters of Appalachian Ohio is seeking a Vice President of Operations to lead financial management, compliance, and internal systems for our growing nonprofit organization. This senior leadership role oversees accounting, payroll, grant financial reporting, and charitable bingo compliance while supporting strong internal controls and long-term sustainability.


The Vice President of Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for the financial integrity, operational systems, and regulatory compliance of BBBSAOH. This position ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliant operations while partnering with the President & CEO, Board of Directors, and leadership team to support organizational sustainability.

Financial Management & Accounting

  • Oversee accounting functions including A/R, A/P, bank deposits, and reconciliations
  • Maintain financial systems (QuickBooks or equivalent)
  • Prepare financial statements and board financial reports
  • Participate in budget development, monitoring, and analysis

Payroll & HR Operations

  • Oversee payroll processing and compliance
  • Ensure accurate timesheets, PTO tracking, and approvals
  • Support HR compliance and documentation

Grant Financial Management

  • Process and submit grant invoices
  • Track and report grant-related financial data
  • Ensure compliance with funder financial requirements

Charitable Bingo Operations

  • Oversee charitable bingo financial management and compliance
  • Manage bingo A/R, A/P, deposits, and reconciliations
  • Coordinate with bingo auditors and regulatory agencies
  • Ensure compliance with Ohio charitable gaming regulations

Operational Oversight & Internal Controls

  • Oversee purchasing controls, payables, and vendor contracts
  • Maintain internal control systems and audit readiness
  • Support enterprise risk management with executive leadership

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field
  • Nonprofit financial management experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with QuickBooks and payroll systems
  • Knowledge of grant financial reporting and compliance
  • Strong attention to detail and internal controls
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
