POSITION SUMMARY  ( Location: Norristown/Pottstown)

Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence (BBBSI), seeks a School Based (SB) Enrollment & Program Coordinator, tasked with recruiting potential volunteer mentors (“Bigs”) and conducting Big interviews and assessments that will allow the School Based Team to make strong and healthy matches that produce positive program outcomes. The SB Enrollment & Program Coordinator will also facilitate one Beyond School Walls (BSW) program. This position supports our BSW workplace mentoring program, where students or “Littles” from local schools meet with their mentors or “Bigs” at their workplace. This position will facilitate BSW curriculum for a BSW program and support the mentoring matches.

This full-time position requires regional travel within the agency’s seven-county service area in Southeastern PA and Southern NJ, and occasional evening/weekend work with most time spent during traditional 9am-5pm work hours.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Volunteer Recruitment & Orientations

· Recruits corporate volunteers by collaborating with corporate partners. Presents group volunteer information sessions, hosts tabling events, and utilizes marketing campaigns to achieve recruitment goals. 

· With the assistance of school liaisons, enroll children with proper paperwork and conduct volunteer and youth assessments/updates as indicated. 

· Uses proactive and creative problem-solving techniques to navigate and resolve difficult situations. Recruits volunteers from a variety of backgrounds to best support youth in achieving their full potential with a focus on recruiting volunteers who reflect the race and lived experiences of our client base.

Interviewing & Assessments

· Conducts volunteer interviews, writes assessments, and works with the team to complete each step of the enrollment process.

· Continually develops skills and knowledge through Agency provided trainings and shares information with volunteers to ensure they have all the information they need to be successful. 

· Work with and receive input from Program team to make matches according to assessments and recommendations from the Intake process.

Intake Process Management

· Maintains accurate volunteer records in an online database.

·· Reviews enrollment information and assessments, always maintaining accurate records. Makes recommendations for each prospective volunteer’s participation in program based on all data, and effectively align volunteer interests and qualifications with service options of Agency. 

· Collaborates with other service delivery staff to ensure a smooth transition among functions.

· Applies child safety and risk management knowledge, policies and procedures to all aspects of job.

· Conducts regular follow up with potential volunteers to ensure timely application processing

Match Support

· Meet or exceed goals in the following areas: clients interviewed, number of matches made, match support compliance, match support quality, match closure rate, average match length, survey compliance, and customer satisfaction. 

Partnership Development  

· Build relationships with partner corporations and schools through coordination with teachers, principals, counselors and corporate liaisons. Act as liaison with site-based contacts to ensure effective implementation of program and coordination of all site-specific needs. 

Program Facilitation

· Effectively plan and implement program logistics and activities for one Beyond School Walls program site. 

· Facilitate engaging match activities twice a month on-site or virtually for mentors and mentees to enhance match relationships and develop strong partnerships at the school site and corporation. 

· Provide friendly, approachable customer service and represent the Agency and our mission in a professional and positive manner.

Child Safety 

· Provide match support at schools and corporate locations to ensure child safety, positive impacts for youth, constructive and satisfying relationships between children and volunteers, and a strong sense of affiliation with BBBS on the part of volunteers.

· Effectively utilize on-line database system for recording and reviewing all child/mentor match details.

Requirements

  

REQUIREMENTS

Academic/Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, an Associate’s Degree and a minimum 2 years relevant experience, high school diploma and a minimum of 4 years relevant experience or, within six months of Bachelor’s degree completion

Experience Required: Experience with recruitment, public speaking, assessment writing, intake and interview experience is required. Experience working with adult and youth populations and with socio-economically diverse populations is required. Must possess the ability to effectively utilize BBBSI’s internal database systems for tracking and recording information.

Additional Requirements: Must have dependable and daily access to a car, valid driver's license, and meet State-required automobile insurance minimums.

Ability to commute to office and/or sites at least 3 days a week is required.

Salary : $40,000
