Part Time Strength and Conditioning Coach
Job Overview Big Blue Strength is looking for a dedicated and passionate Part Time Strength and Conditioning Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate has real coaching experience, a strong understanding of strength training, and the ability to connect with clients of all ages and ability levels.
This role is best suited for someone who has experience coaching barbell lifts and enjoys helping people get stronger, move better, and build confidence in the gym.
Responsibilities
- Coach individual and group training sessions based on client goals, experience, and fitness level.
- Orient new clients and help them feel comfortable, safe, and confident in the gym.
- Teach proper exercise technique, safe movement patterns, and injury prevention strategies.
- Develop and adjust training plans based on client goals, progress, and needs.
- Provide motivation, accountability, and support during training sessions.
- Help clients build positive, sustainable habits around strength, fitness, and overall wellness.
- Communicate clearly with clients and maintain a professional, encouraging coaching environment.
- Manage client scheduling to help maintain consistency and accountability.
- Take on additional personal training or group sessions as availability and qualifications allow.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of coaching experience preferred.
- Experience coaching barbell lifts is required.
- CPR and First Aid certification required.
- CSCS and USAW certifications preferred.
- Degree in exercise science, kinesiology, or related field a plus, but not required with sufficient coaching experience.
- Knowledge of strength training, sports science principles, and athletic performance development.
- Experience with weightlifting, gymnastics, CrossFit, basketball, football, or other sports disciplines is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to educate, motivate, and connect with clients.
- High energy, positive attitude, and a genuine desire to help others succeed.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the strength and conditioning profession.
- Ability to demonstrate lifts and movement patterns, and to be on your feet coaching for the duration of sessions.
- Availability for 8 to 20 hours per week, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, with room for growth.
About Big Blue Strength Big Blue Strength is a small, family oriented facility that cares deeply about our clients and our team. We support one another, take coaching seriously, and have a lot of fun along the way.
We coach clients ranging from 10 years old to 90 years old, from true beginners to national level weightlifters. Many of our clients simply want to get stronger, feel better, and live healthier lives.
This is not a general fitness position. We respect all types of movement, but this role requires someone with actual experience coaching lifting and strength training.
The ideal candidate will have a flexible schedule and interest in growing into additional individual training or group coaching opportunities based on qualifications and availability. Coaches who show initiative and connect well with clients often see increased hours and responsibility over time.
Job Type: Contract Pay: $20.00 to $60.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
