Big Bend Transit, Inc. is accepting applications for the position of Transit Operator. PLEASE NOTE: This posting is for all 7 counties(Leon, Gadsden, Jefferson, Madison, Taylor, Gulf and Franklin). The person in this position typically operates a paratransit vehicle in scheduled and demand response, specialized transportation service, provides passenger assistance in boarding, disembarking, and on-board the vehicle, collects fares, and maintains appropriate records. The person in this position must have a good driving record, and possess, a valid Florida Driver's License. This is a safety-sensitive position, which requires substance abuse testing per BBT's Substance Abuse Policy. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Operations Manager in the respective county.

Duties
- Drive and maintain vehicles, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Provide safe and efficient transportation for passengers to designated locations.
- Communicate effectively with passengers regarding routes, schedules, and any changes.
- Deliver excellent customer service by assisting passengers with their needs during transit.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, including mileage and passenger counts.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
