Big Bend Cares, Inc. is seeking a caring and compassionate Health Educator. The incumbent will provide testing, prevention and essential support services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct confidential HIV testing, including pre and post-test counseling.
- Link clients who have a positive HIV test result to medical care.
- Participate in community events.
- Provide safer sex and risk reduction education as well as PrEP screening.
- Document prevention grant activities and complete monthly reports/logs as required.
- Assist in marketing prevention program services.
- Develop, implement, maintain, and update program activities.
- Effectively present, educate and facilitate information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work weekly hours based on community outreach event schedule. Some evenings and weekends required.
- Routinely lift up to 35 lbs., set up tents, move exhibit supplies.
- Own means of reliable transportation to travel between worksites or other locations.
- Other duties as assigned.
