Description: BBAHEC is seeking a dedicated Tobacco Treatment Specialist to support our evidence-based tobacco cessation programs across Bay County, Panama City, Florida. This position provides both direct client services and program support, including facilitating cessation classes, conducting outreach, and maintaining accurate program records. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working in community and behavioral health settings, and committed to improving public health.
Key Responsibilities:
Tobacco Cessation & Client Support
- Facilitate evidence-based tobacco cessation classes in behavioral health facilities and community locations (training provided).
- Provide supportive counseling, referrals, and follow-up for clients enrolled in tobacco cessation services.
- Assist with preparation and distribution of participant supplies, course materials, and NRT shipments.
Program Administration
- Complete timely and accurate data entry, client tracking, and documentation.
- Answer program phone calls and assist clients with scheduling, referrals, and general inquiries.
- Prepare materials for classes, events, and required program reports.
- Provide administrative support to the Tobacco Program Manager and Tobacco Program Coordinator.
Outreach & Community Engagement
- Conduct outreach activities including health fairs, community events, and partner engagement.
- Represent BBAHEC at meetings, trainings, and partner organizations in a professional, mission-focused manner.
- Assist with building and maintaining relationships with behavioral health providers and community partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience in health education, behavioral health, public health, or related roles preferred.
- Strong communication skills and comfort presenting to small groups.
- Ability to maintain accurate records, manage multiple tasks, and work independently.
- Proficiency with computers and data entry.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (local travel required).
- Must be able to pass required background checks.
Schedule & Work Environment
- This is a remote/home-based position with regular travel throughout Bay County and the Big Bend region.
- Travel is required to facilitate classes in behavioral health facilities and community locations, as well as to attend meetings, outreach events, and partner engagements.
- Primarily weekday schedule with occasional evenings or weekends for classes or events.
- Training provided for tobacco cessation facilitation and program protocols.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
