The role Big Apple Greeter is looking for a Visitor Coordinator. The coordinator manages Greet logistics from our Lower Manhattan office using our proprietary software and their people skills.
Responsibilities
- Get to know our Greeters to match them with visitors
- Help match Greeters with visitors based on the Greeters’ areas of knowledge and the visitors’ interests
- Enter or edit information such as date, time, and place about a scheduled Greet into our proprietary database (training will be provided)
- Reach out to visitors and Greeters via phone, text, WhatsApp, or email
- Troubleshoot scheduling problems
- Send confirmation emails to both visitors and Greeters regarding the logistics of the Greet
- General problem solving and other related tasks as needed
- Friendly, articulate, and patient, with a genuine desire to keep our Greeters happy and visitors satisfied with their Greet
- Very comfortable speaking with people over the phone. This will include our Greeters and NYC visitors, some of whom may be from another country
- Must be able to learn new software. Training in our unique database software will be provided
- Being detail-oriented is a must, being a multi-tasker and fast learner are pluses
- Must be willing to work onsite in our Lower Manhattan office 2 days a week for at least a few hours a day
- Can make a minimum of an 8-month commitment, with a preference for those who can commit for longer
- Is a people-person who likes communicating with others who have a broad range of experiences and personalities
- Loves New York City and is enthusiastic about our mission of connecting New Yorkers with visitors for unforgettable experiences
- Takes pride in knowing that they are making a significant contribution to helping a non-profit organization achieve its goals
- Will enjoy working in a beautiful historic building with a friendly and dedicated staff
