Primary Duties
- Successful operation of store
- Provide excellent customer service and assist customers throughout the store
- Answer phone calls and respond to customer inquiries
- Directing sales and cashier associates throughout the store
- Recommend products and suggest add-on sales
- Merchandising and compliance of all company policies
- Setting promotional signage
- Checking and retrieving merchandise from stockroom as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked sales floor
- Receive merchandise shipment
- Direct oversight of footwear and advertising programs, and other departments
- Opening and closing of the store
- Training newly hired associates
- Development of future management candidates
- Interviewing, hiring, and training employees
- Routinely monitors scheduling and payroll to ensure compliance with our wage and hour rules and with all relevant federal, state and local requirements
- Strategic Planning
- Monitors controllable expenses to optimize profitability
- Inventory control and enforcement of loss prevention policies
- Enforcement of all company policies
- Coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees as needed
- Requires highest standards regarding Loss Prevention, HR Matters and cash handling requirements thereby maintaining a low shrink profile
- Perform or may perform additional duties as assigned by supervision
Position Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Previous retail management experience
- Leadership skills
- Exceptional organizational abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must possess basic organizational and/or applicable math skills
- Detail-oriented and reliable
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of sporting goods is a plus
- Experience or familiarity with POS systems, UKG/WFM or Time and Attendance Systems
- Must possess High School diploma, GED, or High School Equivalency Exam
- Flexible Scheduling
