Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Sound Technician / AV Technician to join our team. In this role, you will set up, operate, and maintain professional audio and visual equipment primarily for live events. You will ensure clear, high-quality sound reinforcement and smooth technical execution during shows, meetings, and productions. This is a hands-on live production position for someone who thrives in fast-paced event environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and strike sound systems including mixing consoles, microphones, speakers, amplifiers, and wireless systems
- Operate and mix live audio on digital consoles, with strong preference for Behringer/Midas X32 systems
- Perform sound checks and system tuning to deliver optimal live sound quality
- Set up and operate AV equipment such as projectors, video displays, cameras, and basic lighting as needed
- Troubleshoot audio and technical issues quickly during live events to minimize disruptions
- Manage cable runs, stage plots, and equipment inventory
- Collaborate with event organizers, stage managers, and production teams to deliver seamless live experiences
- Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on audio and AV gear
- Load, unload, and transport equipment as required
Required Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in live sound engineering for events, concerts, corporate events, or similar
- Strong working knowledge of audio mixing consoles, sound reinforcement systems, and signal flow
- Hands-on experience operating Behringer/Midas X32 digital mixing consoles (required)
- Ability to troubleshoot live audio and AV equipment under pressure
- Experience setting up and running full live sound systems from start to finish
- Physically able to lift and move equipment (typically up to 50 lbs)
- Must have reliable personal transportation and a valid driver’s license
- Reliable, organized, and able to communicate clearly with team members and clients
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with other digital consoles (Yamaha, Allen & Heath, etc.)
- Knowledge of networked audio systems (Dante, AES50, etc.)
- Experience with live streaming or hybrid event setups
- Relevant certifications a plus
