What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Attorney position at Bierwas Law & Associates?
Full or Part-time: Licensed Massachusetts attorney who wishes to learn, or has experience in, Family Law and Estate Planning. We believe in doing the right thing, and we choose our clients very carefully. Everyone is entitled to representation, but it just does not have to be us. We, therefore, tend to represent survivors of abuse, all genders; we pride ourselves on being compassionate and caring.
The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, able to work independently and within our team, share their ideas, and enjoy their work. Newly minted lawyers are welcome to apply. If you are waiting for bar results or need to retake the bar, let us know; we may be able to work out a plan.
Currently, there is a team of support staff for two attorneys. We are looking for someone to draft pleadings, make discovery requests, and appear in court. You will work one-on-one with clients and other attorneys. Help to develop a strategy for resolving or ultimately trying the case if needed.
Must be reliable, write well, and be organized! Legal research, including MCLE OnePass, full access to Lexis, and the latest in Practice Management Software.
We are looking for someone interested in growing with our firm, being a part of the team servicing clients from Berkshire County, and possibly expanding to other counties if the right person wishes to do so.
You will be able to access work remotely, but we like to work in-house, together as well. Please provide your resume and availability.
