Responsibilities
- Assist patients in selecting eyeglasses and contact lenses that meet their prescription needs and lifestyle preferences
- Conduct basic eye assessments, including measuring visual acuity
- Laboratory tasks, including lens fitting and adjustments
- Maintain accurate medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper documentation of patient information
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) as well as filing vision claims
- Assist team with answering phones and scheduling appointments
- Manage retail sales of eyewear products, applying retail math skills to ensure accurate transactions and inventory management
- keep optical equipment and work areas clean and organized
Skills
- Experience with optical equipment, laboratory procedures, and medical billing
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients , including pediatrics and senior care patients
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy at all times
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
