- Instructs students and facilitates their learning in the absence of the regular teacher.
- Provides classroom instruction to students as outlined in lesson plans.
- Creates a classroom that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
- Maintains a safe and orderly environment.
- Maintains established routine of the school and classroom procedures in which assigned.
- Maintains a professional appearance as an example to students.
- Remains at school the entire school day, unless otherwise instructed to leave by building principal.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Maintains reasonable rules of conduct which encourage self-discipline and responsibility.
- Communicates effectively with parents when needed.
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and times designated.
- High School Diploma- May serve 10 days in any one teaching assignment, up to 60 days per school year.
- Two or more years of college- May serve as a substitute for up to 60 days per school year.
- Certified teacher- May serve as a substitute with no time limit in certification area/grade level only.
- Certified teacher- May serve as a substitute for up to 90 days per school year in certification areas outside of area of specialty.
- Guaranteed 3 days per week at BHS
- If no job is available at BHS on days 4-5, we have the right to assign you to another school in the district.

Compensation
Long-term and per diem (by the day) assignments available
$125 per day non-certified
$140 per day for retired teachers and currently certified teachers subbing for Teachers
$140 Long-term subs for a teacher, in one assignment for days 31- 90 (over 90 days is at the entry-level teacher per diem rate)
