Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our small, general practice law firm. This is part-time position (approximately 20-24 hours per week) requiring in-person attendance during our regular business hours, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. No evening/overnight hours or weekends. Degree not required.
Duties
- Manage the law firm’s accounts payable/receivable
- Reconcile operating accounts and assist with trust/IOLTA account reconciliations
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready records
- Handle vendor invoices and customer billing
- Collect payments, process deposits, and handle outgoing supplier payments
- Process employee payroll
- Answer incoming phone calls and take messages
- Order office supplies
- Light clerical and administrative support
Qualifications
- Proficiency in English
- Outstanding time-management, typing and data-entry skills
- Ability to manage highly sensitive and confidential company, client, and employee information
- Comfortable dealing with a diverse pool of people
- Previous bookkeeping, payroll or accounts payable/receivable experience preferred but not required
- Working knowledge of Intuit QuickBooks preferred but not required
