Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced attorney to join our team, focusing on plaintiff-side class action litigation with an emphasis on data breach and privacy matters. The ideal candidate will bring strong litigation experience, a strategic mindset both as it pertains to vetting cases, as well as in positioning the firm for positive outcomes, and a genuine interest in advancing consumer rights through privacy and cybersecurity cases. They should also be able to work independently but have managerial experience or ability given the goal to grow our presence in the practice area.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, develop, and manage plaintiff-side class action cases from intake through resolution.
- Identify, interview, and retain plaintiffs for potential class actions with help from administrative staff and other resources.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis on privacy, data protection, and consumer law issues.
- Draft and edit pleadings, motions, discovery documents, and settlement agreements.
- Collaborate with co-counsel, experts, and investigators to strengthen case strategy and evidence.
- Engage with clients, class representatives, and opposing counsel in a professional and persuasive manner.
- Stay current on evolving privacy legislation and data breach case law trends.
- Help grow the firm’s presence in the practice area both regionally and nationally.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in class action litigation
- Minimum of 2 years experience involving data breach, privacy or consumer protection.
- Demonstrated proficiency in legal writing, research, and strategic case management.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple matters simultaneously.
Education & Certification
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active admission to the bar in California
