The Bibb County School District is now accepting applications for Youth Apprenticeship Program (YAP) Intern.
Summary Description of Classification:
Responsible for assisting the media specialists in maintaining the technology at their assigned school. Performs a variety of technical tasks related to the installation, diagnosis, light repair, updates and maintenance of all computer related items. Follow the guidelines and instructions provided by the school’s media specialist and assigned technician.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform the technology duties assigned by the media specialist.
- Ensure equipment is charged, powered on, paired, connected correctly and working properly.
- Install, configure, inventory, maintain and repair computer hardware, software and peripherals as appropriate.
- Troubleshoot and solve technology issues relating to accounts, devices or classroom technologies.
- Ensure OS, Application and GPO updates.
- Setup, disassemble and organize equipment.
- Communicate unresolved issues to the media specialist
- Perform preventive maintenance procedures on computers and peripherals as needed.
- Required to submit regular time sheets.
- All other duties assigned.
Education, Training and Experience:
- Must be a Junior or Senior in high school.
- Must be recommended by the media specialists or school employee.
- Basic computer/network experience is a plus.
Salary/Terms/Benefits:
- Intern dates are Aug 2026 – May 2027. Hours as set upon employment.
- Salary is $10.00 per hour. No benefits.
