Duties
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and dicing vegetables and meats according to menu specifications.
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation practices in accordance with health regulations.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, and blenders safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and quality food preparation for service.
- Help with inventory management by notifying management of low stock levels.
- Participate in catering events as needed, ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards.
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with culinary techniques and food preparation methods is essential.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen is required.
- Strong knife skills and experience with various kitchen equipment are advantageous.
