What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Permit Coordinator position at Biarri Networks?
Job Summary:
The Junior Permit Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the permitting process for FTTH projects, from requirement gathering, sourcing required data, and coordinating engineering requirements between customers, agencies and internal Engineering teams. This role will work closely with the Permits team to assist with the the creation, submission and tracking of permits through to attainment, managing corrections or changes needed or requested by each authority.
We’re looking for a motivated and proactive individual who’s ready to take ownership of the permit to approval process.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Identify permitting authorities within a boundary
- Coordination with permitting authorities to obtain all permit requirements
- Research, contact and obtain any data required from any utility or asset owner within the area
- Manage regulatory compliance, ensuring all plans adhere to local ordinances, codes and permit requirements
- Undertake risk assessments and manage issue resolution when required
- Assist with data collection in the field
- Create, collate, submit permits to permitting authorities
- Manage, track and expedite permit approval process through to attainment
- Review Permit Drawings and provide feedback to ensure compliant permit packages
- Regular work-related travel to project locations to engage with permitting authorities and end clients

- Technical knowledge in aspects of FTTH deployments and how they related to permitting requirements prefered, but not required
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills, industry knowledge, and grow within the company
Required Education & Experience
- Ideally 1-2 years experience managing FTTH (or similar) permits and working with with local municipalities, Railroads and DoTs
- 1-2 years working within Telecom FTTH engineering roles preferred
- Experience working across multiple time zones and work locations preferred
