Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble menu items with attention to detail, ensuring high-quality presentation and taste
- Assist in food handling, cooking, and meal preparation according to established recipes and safety protocols
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations, adhering to food safety standards at all times
- Support menu planning efforts by preparing ingredients and assisting with inventory management
- Handle food with care, following proper knife skills and sanitation procedures to ensure safety and efficiency
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Cook & Plate food on various workstations
Experience
- Previous dietary department or dietary aide experience is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with food handling and safety protocols
- Experience in full-service restaurant kitchens, showcasing culinary expertise and attention to detail
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal assembly within the food industry
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices
- Skilled in using kitchen tools such as knives safely and efficiently; experience with catering or large-scale meal prep is a plus
- Familiarity with menu planning processes and supporting the development of new dishes or specials
- Proven ability to work effectively in fast-paced settings while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and quality
