Independent Contractor (1099)
Engagement Overview
Bi-Bett Corporation seeks an Independent EHR Systems Administrator with Welligent EHR experience to provide specialized consulting and technical services related to the configuration, optimization, compliance support, and reporting functions of the organization’s Welligent Electronic Health Record (EHR) system used in substance use disorder treatment services.
This engagement is structured as an independent contractor relationship. The contractor will determine the means and methods used to deliver services and will perform work without direct supervision, subject only to agreed-upon deliverables, timelines, and compliance requirements.
Compensation: $30.00 – $45.00 per hour or project-based rate, as agreed in a written contract
Engagement Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
Work Location: Remote and/or on-site as needed
Duration: Ongoing or project-based, as defined in contract
Scope of Professional Services
The contractor will provide Welligent EHR system administration and advisory services, which may include:
Welligent EHR Configuration & Optimization
- Configure and maintain Welligent EHR workflows, forms, templates, and documentation structures aligned with SUD treatment standards, ASAM criteria, and payer requirements.
- Develop and optimize Welligent clinical documentation templates supporting medical necessity, authorizations, and regulatory compliance.
- Perform Welligent system testing related to upgrades, enhancements, configuration changes, or new functionality.
Technical Advisory, Training & Support
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support related to Welligent EHR functionality.
- Develop Welligent-specific training materials and conduct training sessions as requested.
- Advise leadership and program staff on best practices for Welligent EHR utilization and workflow efficiency.
Compliance & Reporting Support
- Support Welligent EHR configurations that align with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, DHCS, Medi-Cal, and applicable regulatory standards.
- Assist with Welligent-related audit preparation, chart review processes, and reporting needs.
- Design and maintain Welligent reports related to productivity, census, outcomes, authorizations, and utilization.
Vendor & Systems Collaboration
- Act as a technical liaison with Welligent EHR vendor support for issue resolution, system enhancements, and configuration requests.
- Provide recommendations regarding Welligent system improvements, integrations, and optimization opportunities.
Data Security & Risk Mitigation
- Support Welligent access controls, audit logs, and security configurations.
- Provide guidance related to Welligent privacy incident response and disaster recovery planning.
Contractor Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise administering Welligent EHR within behavioral health or substance use disorder treatment environments.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 requirements as they relate to Welligent EHR systems.
- Experience supporting regulatory audits, reporting, and documentation standards within Welligent.
- Ability to independently manage workload, priorities, and deliverables.
Independent Contractor Status
- Contractor retains full discretion and control over how services are performed.
- Contractor may provide similar services to other organizations.
- Contractor is responsible for all taxes, insurance, licensing, and business expenses.
- No employee benefits are provided.
Access & Compliance Requirements
- Completion of background screening and TB clearance may be required due to access to protected health information and treatment facilities.
- Compliance with Bi-Bett confidentiality, data security, and access policies is required.
