Summary/Objective
The Respiratory Tech supports certified/licensed respiratory therapists (CRT/RRT) in the delivery of patient care services. This clinical support position is intended for individuals who have completed an Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy and are working toward certification/licensure. The Respiratory Tech performs delegated tasks under the direct supervision of a certified/licensed respiratory therapist and supports the mission of providing Sacred Work to all who enter the doors of Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas.
Essential Job Duties

- Assists CRT/RRTs with basic respiratory care procedures and treatments as directed.
- Prepares, assembles, and maintains respiratory therapy equipment, ensuring proper function and cleanliness.
- Cleans, disinfects, and stores equipment in accordance with department and infection control policies.
- Assists with setup of oxygen delivery devices, aerosol therapy, and other basic modalities under supervision.
- Performs basic non-invasive monitoring (e.g., pulse oximetry) and reports findings to the supervising therapist.
- Stocks supplies, transports equipment/patients as needed, and documents delegated tasks per hospital policy.
Required Education and Experience
Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy from a CoARC accredited training program.
Required License/Certifications
BLS within 30 days of hire
