Summary/Objective
Under the general supervision of the BCN Director, the Program Coordinator serves as a liaison between the patient, family, physicians, and the Hospital to promote mutual understanding of needs and responsibilities of all parties involved in the patient care process. The Program Coordinator will develop, implement and maintain programs to engage cancer patients, their caregivers and survivors in activities and social events. The Program Coordinator will coordinate employee engagement and recognition opportunities and will coordinate with the Volunteer Department.

Develops, implements and maintains programs that impact and enrich the journey of cancer patients from diagnosis to treatment to survivorship. Promotes and maintains the Being Beautiful program. Develops and maintains community relationships to encourage donation of items to enhance the patient experience.
Responsible for managing the Survivorship Support Group and quarterly luncheons. This includes meetings with the survivorship committee, procuring speakers for quarterly luncheons and identifying activities and speakers for monthly support group meetings and promoting events.
Manages the event operations for Baptist Cancer Network booths for community outreach programs, health fairs, conferences, coordinates and implements educational awareness programs for patients, families and caregivers at the cancer centers based on designated cancer awareness month. Works with the management team to develop and implement patient and caregiver events – Patient Annual Christmas Party, National Cancer Survivor Month, etc.
Develops, implements and maintains a monthly activity calendar with daily activities for patients to participate in. Manage recognition and celebration of employees for national designated weeks as appropriate, birthdays, etc. Communicates with employees regarding patient events, activities and those for staff and encourages volunteerism at community events.
Coordinates with the Volunteer Department for volunteers at the cancer center, including cancer center visits with the Pet Therapy Volunteer Program.
Documents patient interactions appropriately in the EMR, completes questionnaires, tracks program, health fair data and when appropriate submits timely to maintain compliance with accreditations. Works with the marketing department to promote all events and activities.

High School Diploma or equivalent
