Summary/Objective
The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Director of Baptist Cancer Network and Baptist Cancer Network Managers. This non-clinical position requires skills and experience in various clerical duties. The Administrative Assistant must support the mission of providing Sacred Work to all who enter the doors of Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas Baptist Cancer Network.

- Assists in data collection for statistical surveys or other reports generated by the Department. Maintains a high degree of competency in the daily operations in the Department. Assists with the provision of all clerical services in the Department.
- Reproduces all requested materials accurately and in a timely manner. Distributes Departmental mail in an accurate and timely manner. Composes and types Departmental correspondence. Maintains all Departmental records and files. Distribute patient records and reports to proper areas, as needed.
- Screens telephone calls and greets visitors. These interactions include but are not limited to complaints and requests for information. Prioritizes and delegates calls to CNO and ACNO or hospital departments based on the nature of calls.
- Ensure that problems/concerns regarding activities in the Department are communicated with appropriate personnel. Utilizes lines of accountability appropriately when errors in one's own or other's work are identified. Always maintains professional level of conduct in the Department. Ensure that problems or concerns regarding the areas of responsibility are communicated with appropriate department personnel.
- Assigns appropriate cost center for all vendor invoices and purchase orders. Complete SOR’s and check requests appropriately, submit for signatures for approval, then forwards to COO office for signature and to process for payment.
- Assists with Departmental inventory as needed. Routinely completes clerical duties such as charging, filing, copying, ordering supplies, answering telephone and scheduling. Collection of data, and preparation of committee reports.
Required Education and Experience
High School Graduate or Equivalent
3-5 years’ experience
