Part-Time or Casual Clinic Registered Nurse (RN), Coldwater or Hillsdale
Under the supervision of the Clinic Supervisor, provides professional nursing care to clients in the tri-county region according to specific program requirements and recommended public health core competencies. The successful applicant will primarily be working in the control of communicable disease surveillance and prevention, but may be asked to assist with other services including Immunizations, WIC, Sexually Transmitted Disease Control, or Tuberculosis Control. The public health nurse also becomes trained and prepared to respond to community emergency/pandemic/ bioterrorism situations. Nursing care includes assessment, interpretation of results, administering and prescribing medication standing orders, counseling and teaching, referral for other services, and evaluation of nursing care. Demonstrates clear communication and integrity in support of the CHA mission, philosophy, and quality of client interventions. Promotes a model of ethical standards within the Agency and community. Developing a population-oriented view of community health is vital to appropriate public health nursing.
Employment Qualifications:
Education: Current Michigan Registered Nurse license is required
Experience & Required Skills:
- Two to more years of professional nursing experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills necessary to effectively communicate with co-workers, clients, community partners, community agencies/organizations and others such as elected officials.
- Computer skills necessary to effectively utilize electronic medical record.
Special Requirement: Must have a valid Michigan Driver’s License and reliable transportation, as work-related travel may be required.
Salary and Fringe Benefits:
This is a part-time position, 22.5 hours per week with a starting wage of $27.70 per hour with no benefits.
