Job Summary
As a Social Work Supervisor, you will provide strategic leadership and clinical direction to the Behavioral Health Services (BHS) team. This role is pivotal in aligning our Social Workers and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors with hospital goals to ensure the delivery of efficient, high-quality care.
You will be responsible for adapting strategic plans to identify emerging risks and opportunities, while implementing utilization management and discharge planning policies that optimize both clinical outcomes and financial performance. Acting in a lead capacity, you will handle complex cases and oversee direct and indirect social work services for a diverse patient population ranging from adolescents to adults within the Carroll Hospital community.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: Adapt and execute departmental strategic plans; identify resolutions for operational gaps and clinical risks.

Operational Oversight: Create and implement policies for utilization management and discharge planning to ensure seamless patient transitions and resource optimization.

Clinical Supervision: Provide guidance and direction to BHS Social Workers and LCPCs, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

Lead Case Management: Manage complex clinical situations and provide direct social work services to patients and families.

Departmental Alignment: Ensure all team activities meet or exceed hospital benchmarks for quality of care and patient satisfaction.
Requirements
Education & Experience

Master’s Degree in Social Work or a related field (Required).

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in clinical social work.

Proven experience in hospital utilization management and/or discharge planning (Highly Preferred).
Licensure & Certifications

LCSW-C (Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical) (Required).

Certified Social Work Supervisor status (Required).
