Summary Job Description: Baptist Health Surgery Center Eastpoint location is seeking a dedicated full-time Charge RN. This is an entry-level management position responsible for coordinating patient care and providing leadership to nursing staff during assigned shifts. The Charge RN plays a critical role in ensuring safe, effective, and high-quality care for patients across the lifespan—from infancy to geriatrics—in alignment with the Kentucky Nurse Practice Act. As a Registered Nurse, the Charge RN utilizes the nursing process, exercises sound clinical judgment, and follows National Professional Nursing Standards. They collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote positive patient outcomes and actively participate in shared governance initiatives. This role also serves as a mentor and role model by supporting professional development, continuous learning, and evidence-based practice. Key responsibilities include assisting the Nurse Manager with operational activities, staff scheduling, and oversight of patient care delivery. The Charge RN demonstrates clinical proficiency, supports quality improvement efforts, helps orient and develop staff, and contributes to the overall organization and efficiency of the unit. Strong leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills are essential.
