Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Receptionist to join our dynamic team in a busy dental clinic. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical office management, with experience in handling patient interactions, managing office tasks, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Proficiency in ICD-10 coding and familiarity with Epic software are highly desirable. This role is crucial for maintaining the smooth operation of our clinic and providing exceptional service to our patients.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and manage front desk operations efficiently.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow to optimize clinic efficiency.
- Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details, while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Process patient records accurately, including medical coding using ICD-10 standards.
- Assist in the development and management of care plans for patients as needed.
- Communicate effectively with dental staff regarding patient needs and treatment plans.
- Maintain an organized filing system for patient records and ensure confidentiality at all times.
- Handle billing inquiries and assist patients with payment processes.
- Stay updated on dental terminology and office management practices to enhance operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role within a dental clinic is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical office management practices, including familiarity with Epic software.
- medical coding principles is essential.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Familiarity with care plans and medical terminology is advantageous.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical office management is a plus.
